20 laps

Yesterday’s scheduled long run had to move to today. I did not have the time to coach my team through their practice and then begin my own workout so I combined them. We have a loop at the school we call money miles. Each lap is 1 mile. The kids and I started at 2:10. Their goal was to see how many the could finish in an hour. Some did 7, some did 6 a couple did 5 and one did 4.

After the hour they went on their way and I continued my run. I was in a groove so to speak so I just kept doing money miles – 20 of them. This time the run was completely non stop. No stopping to drink at a fountain (like I sometimes do at the park.) No stopping to refill my bottle. Actually the one bottle I carried seemed to be sufficient. My total time was 2:55:36 for an 8:51 pace. This is a good pace for the course. The Garmin says there was 3600 feet of up and down! Also several parts are around the fields at Hillview which are thick grass and slow to run on.
