Chuck, Lance, Eric and I met early this morning for our typical run on the aqueduct. Lance pulled ahead from the beginning but after a few reminders to keep it easy he backed off and stayed10 or 20 meters ahead. Then we all fell into our typical 8:15 – 8:30 pace. Erik and I stopped at 10 miles. By this time I was feeling quite finished. The effects of the hills the last two days were catching up to me. My right calf and left quad were saying, “all done.”
Lance turned and took off for 5 miles at marathon pace. Chuck continued running easily behind him. Maybe Chuck will comment and let us know how Lance did on his last five!
Good job on your 10 miler. This morning 8:30 pace felt a little difficult for me, so I settled in at 8:45 pace for my last 10 miles. Lance ran 8:00 pace for his last 5 miles.
