Long, of course is a relative term. What is long to a newbie middle school runner is an easy run for a fiend like me. As I previously stated, we are having two different workouts each day for the next few weeks. So, today I lead both of these workouts on what is probably our longest regular run – our Mt Rite Aid run. From Hillview, if you make it all the way to the peak and back it is a 5.5 mile round trip. There were only a half dozen or so who made it all the way in the morning. Another half dozen or so made it their in the much more difficult (95 degrees) heat of the afternoon.
Tomorrow, I plan to run with Clay and Karl and whomever else shows up on the trails by San Francisquito Canyon road. As previously stated, I feel the ups and down are doing a positive number on my strength and ability so I intend to stick with it for a while now.
Sunday, I will meet Lance and whomever else wants to get up crazy early for a run on the aqueduct. Lance is scheduled for 15, I believe, some of it at a faster pace, I imagine. He will probably run away from me. I will be doing my long recovery run. (Is that a contradiction in terms?)
