Hillview boys shine at Mt. SAC meet
WALNUT – The Hillview Middle School boys cross country team ran exceptionally well at the prestigous Mt. SAC meet over the weekened.
The Hillview eighth-grade boys team took first place overall in the team race, setting a new course record in the process.
Hillview raced to an overall team time of one hour and 1.44 seconds, breaking the old mark held by Spurgeon by 34 seconds. The record has stood since 2002.
Andrew Mitchell led his school by winning the race in 11:33.
Not to be outdone, Hillview’s sixth-grade squad also won the overall team standings while setting a new new course record.
Hillview’s time of 1:06.04 topped Bell Mountain’s 2006 time of 1:11:32.
Adam DeShields won the race in a time of 12:31.
Both teams are coached by Dale Lister.
