After Monday PR trail run, I cut back just a bit on Tuesday. I only did 2 workouts and not 3. The Hillview kids and I (along with Oscar and Dora Gutierrez) did a nice speed workout in the heat of the afternoon. We did 5, 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, 1…. When we do these intervals on the field it is hard to get a feel for how fast I am going. There is not track. We are running in somewhat deep and uneven grass. All I know is that I seem to be faring pretty well compared to my athletes. I have to goad the girls to get any of them to try to stay with me. The fastest boys are out ahead, but not too far….
In the evening I coached the HDR speed workout on the track. It was essentially the same thing. I did not participate. I just coached.
Afterwards, Miguel and Jessica joined me at Clay’s house for a Clayve workout! Once again. It was fun…. and challenging!
Today, was an easy recovery day. We ran a 2 mile trial. For the fast kids it was an easy day, but for those who have not yet passed my 2 mile trial it was an opportunity to do so. Afterwards we did some ab killers. I noted, on the planks, that my upper abs were pretty sore. But the soreness was only noticeable when doing planks.
