Just 6 Weeks

No, this is not the amount of time since I last ran… well, actually that would be pretty close….

I am not seeing much progress this last week as to foot pain and achiness. In other words. The heel still feels tight and it hurst from time to time and the upper foot can still get set off by driving or reclining in my chair….

Just 6 weeks is the title of an App I found free on Amazon. It promises to build me up to 200 situps, 150 tricep dips, 150 squats, 100 push ups and 20 pull ups in “just 6 weeks” I found it ans put it into use on Christmas Eve- last Wednesday. For each exercise it asked you to do a trial to see how many you could do. It would then have you start the program after a couple of days recovery. I pretty much knew I could already do about 10 push ups, 30 sit ups, 15 dips, 15-20 squats and 0 pull ups, so I put these numbers in and got started.

It had me go exercise by exercise in 5 sets of varying numbers with a timed recovery between each set. The recoveries were sometimes 60 and sometimes 90s… Not sure why it varied, it probably depends on the amount of time you take to do the set. In total it had me do 67 sit ups, 25 push ups, 28 tricep dips, 33 squats and 5 pull ups on day 1. It is designed to be done 3 days a week: Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So on day 2, Friday it had me do 81 sit ups, 33 push ups, 43 dips, 44 squats and 6 pull ups…

As for the pull ups I am doing them without a band. Each one is a jump straight into an attempted pull up. The front bumper on my van is right there and I have been using it to get a little assist with a light push from one foot. I have almost completed a couple without assist…

Friday, btw, I got my hybrid bike out and went for a little ride while my team worked out at the park. Cycling seems to be okay for the foot…
