First, Thursday, after the DC trip. I did nothing but rest, hoping my cold would go away. So far, it has not. Yesterday, Friday, I went to the park to join in on the Hillview Intercession practice. We had 15 or so kids and 3 coaches – counting me. We did a bit longer than a mile to warm up, we did some drills and we played some Sharks and Minnows. It was only a total of 2 miles but that was enough.
Today, we had our annual HDR Poppy Trot run. I headed out in spite of my cold. My training plan called for 14, which would have required me going out and running extra miles before. I was not able to get out of bed early. I struggled up as 7ish and barely made it there on time.
After the usual talk from Alan, we got started. Michelle Arvidson and Jennifer Hobbs were following me most of the run.
They were worried about getting lost. So I waited for em a couple of times….
Still, I got in a nice 8 miler.

Alan had not gone out and hidden the cards as in years past so the only prize was by random drawing… Jennifer won it.
Here are some more pictures gleaned from facebook from those at the run:
Finally, one more fun thing. A number of the runners uploaded to Strava. Click here for the Stravalabs Flyby run!
